Circularity Measurement Coalition

Measuring circularity
The coalition brings large companies together in a think tank to support them in measuring and steering their circular economy strategy.
Context
Context
The circular economy is recognised as a strategic lever, but scaling it up runs into the absence of agreed tools for measuring its benefits in concrete terms.
Year 1: a common set of indicators (2023-2024)
Since 2023, the coalition has brought together large companies and academic partners to build a shared measurement framework. A first year of work led, in May 2024, to the publication of an open-source Practical Guide setting out a core set of 21 indicators.
Year 2: three real-world case studies (2024-2025)
Between March 2024 and September 2025, three pilot projects tested the reliability and relevance of these indicators: at EDF (reuse, logistics optimisation and waste reduction on a construction site), at Veolia with the Life2Life initiative (the role of reuse platforms in extending equipment lifespans) and at BNP Paribas with 3 Step IT (life cycle management of technology equipment). Published on 28 October 2025, these findings confirm that measuring circularity cannot be reduced to a reporting exercise: it depends heavily on the type of offering, requires rigorous framing (scope, functional unit, assumptions) and is above all a learning and steering tool for teams.
Objective
To put corporate circular initiatives on an objective footing and demonstrate their environmental, economic and social value, giving teams steering tools rather than a declarative exercise.

FAQ
What you need to know about us.
What is Circul'R?
Circul'R is a consulting firm specializing in the circular economy. Since 2016, it has supported over 150 large companies and public entities through consulting projects, sector-specific coalitions, training programs, and the Circul'R Club.
How does Circul'R differ from a generalist CSR consultancy?
Unlike a generalist CSR consultancy, Circul'R has specialized exclusively in the circular economy since 2016. This cross-functional expertise—covering supply chains, regulations (AGEC, REP, ESPR), and business models—allows the firm to turn circularity into a measurable competitive advantage: impact reduction, resource security, compliance, and new growth drivers.
Who is Circul'R for?
Circul'R advises large private companies—including many CAC 40 and SBF 120 groups—on their strategic decisions across all sectors. The firm also supports organizations implementing public circular economy policies, such as eco-organizations, agencies, funding bodies, and local authorities.
