Following an earlier risk analysis, a major distributor of building and home equipment, products and materials wanted to assess the relevance of its decarbonisation roadmaps on the basis of an analysis of secondary material availability to 2030 (steel, aluminium, copper, PP, PVC), in order to test how realistic the targets were in light of the risks and the properties of the materials.
Solution
- 5 materials selected on the basis of the earlier criticality study and of the company's internal priorities.
- Internal demand for these materials was modelled as of today and then projected to 2030 on the basis of the decarbonisation and economic trajectories, with this modelling compared against material availability through a multi-scale study (France, EU, world).
