What the Circular Alliances Awards are
Each year, the Circular Alliances Awards recognise the most effective business-to-business collaborations in support of the circular economy.
Organised by Circul'R in partnership with Bpifrance and ChangeNOW, they single out concrete projects run jointly by several economic players - large companies, start-ups, producer responsibility organisations, public bodies or charities - who transform their industrial or commercial practices together.
The awards ceremony is held at the French Ministry for the Economy and Finance, a strong signal of institutional recognition for these efforts.
Why do these Awards exist?
Our conviction is simple: no company can make the transition to a circular economy on its own. The barriers - technical, logistical, economic - are too numerous to be cleared in isolation.
Collaboration between economic players is not merely desirable. It is the structural condition for scaling viable circular models. Data sharing, pooled infrastructure, jointly built value chains: this is how lasting, replicable solutions are constructed.
The Circular Alliances Awards exist to make these coalitions visible and to inspire other companies to build similar momentum.
The 2025 winners: three examples worth remembering
The 2025 edition recognised three exemplary collaborative projects:
🏆 Packaging reuse in food service - Pandobac × Transgourmet France. A reusable packaging solution rolled out at scale across food logistics.
🏆 Solidarity-based reuse of Paris 2024 Olympic furniture - Emmaüs France, Paris 2024 and Ecomaison. Olympic Games furniture redirected to work integration channels: circular and solidarity-based at once.
🏆 Digital product passport for household appliances - Arianee, Ecosystem and Fnac Darty. A pioneering collaboration on digital product traceability, in the spirit of the forthcoming European eco-design regulation.
These three examples illustrate the many forms a circular alliance can take: reuse, the social economy, data and digital.
Circularity does not have a single face. It adapts to value chains, to constraints and to the players involved.
Who can enter?
The 2026 Awards are open to a broad range of organisations involved in the circular transition:
- Companies, from SMEs to international groups
- Start-ups and scale-ups in the circular economy
- Producer responsibility organisations
- Public bodies and local authorities
- NGOs, charities and social economy organisations
The essential criterion: collaboration. The point is not to reward a solo initiative, but a project co-built by several organisations, aimed at reducing environmental impact, optimising resource use or rolling out an innovative circular business model.
